'NSYNC,
Sisqo, Joe Headed To McDonald's
In a
development sure to cause one hell of a lunchtime rush, 'NSYNC will join Sisqo
and Joe at a McDonald's restaurant in Philadelphia next week to help the fast
food chain launch its summer-long music promotion.
Those
chart heavyweights will visit Philly on Thursday, July 20 to help kick off the
chain's Summer Music Event 2000, according to spokespeople for the event.
Britney
Spears will also participate, though she won't be on hand in Philly. Spears will
be beamed in live via satellite from the Ronald McDonald House in San Antonio,
Texas to greet the press.
But
before you all pile in the SUV to head to either San Antonio or Philadelphia,
you should know that these events are for the press only, and are not open to
the public. Fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the popsters or snag an autograph
are out of luck, though they might have better luck at the Spectrum or the
Alamodome, where 'NSYNC and Spears respectively are playing that same night.
All the
hubbub is being staged to help McDonald's introduce three new CDs and one new
home video which will be sold by the chain this summer. Spears, 'NSYNC, Sisqo,
and Joe will join DMX, Ruff Ryders, Mary J. Blige, Q-Tip, TLC, R. Kelly, Enrique
Iglesias, Selena, Carlos Vives, and others on the CDs, titled "Your #1
Requests... And More," "The Groove," and "The Rhythm."
Meanwhile, the video promises interviews with Spears, 'NSYNC, and Joe.
McDonald's
will also be giving customers the chance to win backstage passes to shows by
artists on the aforementioned CDs.
