Bolton
talking to *NSync's label
Old-school
crooner Michael Bolton is in talks to become a label-mate of new kids Britney
Spears and *NSync, according to The New York Post.
The paper said Bolton, who is no longer with longtime label Columbia, is in
talks with Jive Records over a proposed three-album deal. The issue, however, is
money.
The Post said Bolton, whose biggest days as a hit-maker are apparently behind
him, wants a $10-$15 million advance, while Jive is countering with a deal in
the $2 million to $5 million range.
Jive fears that Bolton's biggest-selling records from years past will remain
with Columbia, while his prospects for equalling his chart-topping days with
Jive are limited, The Post said.
