If you've
been waiting for Britney Spears and 'NSYNC to come along and pepper your holiday
season with a shimmering, sparkling dose of pop, then you're about to be a very
happy reader.
Those acts
are teaming up with the Backstreet Boys, Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston,
TLC, Toni Braxton, Santana, Monica, Joe, R. Kelly, Pink, Dave Matthews Band,
Donell Jones, Dido, and Steps for a holiday collection titled "Platinum
Christmas."
The
collection arrives on November 14 through Jive Records, and it promises to find
the aforementioned artists tackling holiday season classics as well as
contemporary tracks.
The
collection marks Jive Records' first foray into the holiday market and brings a
Christmas twist to the pop-compilation trend that sent the "Now That's What
I Call Music 4" compilation to the top of the charts this summer.
